Belfast
We flew from lovely Edinburgh to Belfast. Belfast is kind of sad. If Edinburgh is the Brooklyn of the UK, Belfast is Detroit. Do you know anything about Irish history? We don’t really but the basics are that when Ireland decided it didn’t want to be part of the monarchy’s deal it voted to secede and the only votes in favor of staying came from the Belfast area. So at some point, I guess around the time all the violence was going down in Ireland, it just stopped developing. Now they’re trying to re-invigorate the area with lots of Titanic exhibits and shopping malls but it’s still an odd place. Of course, we didn’t really take any pictures of the sad parts so lets look at the pretty stuff.
